About this trail

Old Logger's Path is a 27.1-mile circuit trail located in northeastern Lycoming County, blazed in orange and located entirely on State Forest Lands. The starting point is approximately 2.7 miles southwest of Ellenton on Legislative Route 41110. The trail sits on land that formerly belonged to the Central Pennsylvania Lumber Company; the route takes advantage of the engineering expertise of the early logging railroaders as it follows their grades. Highlights include the many cuts and fills on the grades, Rock Run (one of the prettiest streams in Pennsylvania), and vistas looking into the McIntyre Wild Area, Pleasant Stream, and the Loyalsock Trail region. The trail has been featured in the historical series "Ghost Lumber Towns of Central Pennsylvania," which includes Masten, the starting point of the Old Loggers Path. In cooperation with DCNR, sections of this trail are maintained by volunteers from the Keystone Trails Association and the Alpine Club of Williamsport.
